LEWISTON – A missionary conference will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Multi-Purpose Center when missionary guests will be introduced. The theme for the conference is “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news.”
As part of the South Lewiston Baptist Church’s 47th annual missionary conference, guests from a variety of cultures will share their experiences and vision for missions from their part of the world. The conference will continue at the church through Sunday evening.
Speakers will include Pastor Mutima Peter, Central Africa Vision; Dan and Michelle Dore, New Tribes Mission; and Chris and Mary Pope, Root Cellar. Also participating will be Jeff and Susan Becker of Jeremiah 29:11 Ministries, who will lead a children’s conference throughout the weekend.
A men’s breakfast and fellowship is planned for 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Fireside Inn, exit 75. Women will meet at 10:30 a.m. for a brunch and devotional at Fireside Inn. A potluck supper is planned at 5 p.m. Saturday at the church followed by workshops that involve each missionary presenting highlights of their mission field.
The missionary guests will speak at morning and evening services on Sunday. The Sunday service will begin at 10:30 a.m. A special service for a missionary question and answer time will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by refreshments.
