FARMINGTON – Imagine living at the Franklin County Animal Shelter for 13 months and your name is Larry, but you’re a girl. That’s what Larry lives with every day, said staff.

She arrived as a private surrender because of a family health issue and has been at the shelter since.

Staff said Larry is a wonderful cat who likes to explore the cat rooms and sleep in the baskets. She is not a cuddle-bug, but does like people and other cats, they said.

New dogs at the shelter include a Staffordshire terrier mix from North Jay and a black lab mix from Wilton.

Staff reports that the shelter has received several needed vacuum cleaners.
