LEWISTON – A construction worker remained in critical condition Wednesday nearly a week after he was struck on a city street.
Edward Elwell, 46, of Topsham was listed in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Elwell was with his two sons painting traffic lines on Sabattus Street about 10 p.m. on Oct. 9 when a 1994 Ford pickup driven by Susan Weagle, 52, of 586 Pleasant Street hit Elwell, police said. Weagle notified police about the accident.
Elwell apparently suffered head injuries, police said.
