Who supports CasinosNo!? The wealthy, who can go anywhere, have their plush jobs and don’t want to see anyone else get ahead? Maine remains their playground. They get to keep all the marbles.

I believe many from Southern Maine who opposed a casino there fully regret that decision; and the only solace we gave Washington County for losing their opportunity was to look to your brothers, sisters, and neighbors – there’s nothing we can do to help you.

It’s time we help ourselves. We need real jobs and alternate means of supporting our own people and infrastructure. More taxes are not a viable solution and we are fried out with empty promises.

What does “CasinosNo!” have to offer for jobs with benefits, and myriad social and economic stimuli that the Oxford County casino proposal offers? “CasinosNo!” tells us that half our money heads out of state if there is a casino here. But I say, “Not just our money; but our jobs, our people, and everything else we have will continue going out of state if we don’t create something positive here soon!”

Let other people feed our economy instead of us constantly feeding theirs.

Some major ski resorts, no longer Maine-owned, are against the casino. Check out their wages and how much of their profits remain here.

Not everyone chooses to ski. Some, like myself, prefer other forms of entertainment.

Keep Maine diversified.
