If there’s one way out of this economic mess this nation is in, it’s through education; and if there’s one candidate who understands the value of this concept, it’s Penthea Burns.

She is the product of a Maine education and has dedicated herself to working with youth for more than 25 years in schools throughout the state. She has seen how devastating it can be when children are forced to move from school district to school district because their parents cannot find dependable work and affordable housing.

She firmly believes that Mainers of all ages need to have greater access to higher education in order to attain stable jobs with higher wages. This will create a fertile environment for new industries to grow, keep our capable workforce employed, and keep our youth in Maine after they graduate.
