AUBURN – Funeral services honoring the life of Peter J. Kolbe Sr. were held Thursday morning at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marian Marks presiding.
At the beginning of services the burial pall was placed on Peter’s casket by his family, then words of remembrance were shared by Peter’s childhood friend, Anthony Gowell, and by Pauline’s cousin, Frank Deschaine, who was also a reader during the service. The organist was Charles Marshall.
Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, committal prayers were recited by the Rev. Marks. Then the U.S. Navy honor detail played “Taps,” and presented our country’s flag to Peter’s wife, Pauline, in recognition of her husband’s service to his country during the Vietnam conflict.
The pallbearers were Peter’s four sons, Peter Jr., Derrick, Raymond and Alex Kolbe, as well as Justin Langer and Joseph Kolbe Jr.
At the conclusion of services all were invited back to a reception of fellowship at the Grace Lutheran Church Hall. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
