OXFORD – A Lewiston man was injured Friday morning when a chipper he was standing near was struck by a car and hit him.
Police said Orville Davis, 47, of 67 Deer St., Lewiston, was knocked down and bruised when a car driven by Leona Record, 91, of 661 King St., Oxford, came down Allen Hill Road, near Pleasant Street. Orville was assisting Mark Davis, 35, of 67 Deer St., Lewiston, in backing a truck with a chipper out of a driveway shortly after 9 a.m.
Police said the Orville was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital where he was treated for minor bruises.
No citations were issued.
