AUBURN – Jeannette Marie Cote, 87, of Auburn, passed peacefully at the Odd Fellows Home of Maine on Thursday, Oct. 16.

Born on Aug. 18, 1921, and educated in Auburn schools, Jeannette was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

A hard worker all her life, she worked for years in the local shoe industry, and most recently, was manager of the Pineland Motel of Auburn, until her retirement in 1995.

In 1937, she was happily married to Adrian G. Cote, until his untimely death in March 1972.

Together, from their Auburn home, they raised three boys, and through the years, enjoyed traveling around the country as well as Canada, and camping. Family time was always a high priority in her life.

In her spare time, Jeannette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and spending time with friends and family.

During the last three years, Jeannette resided at the Odd Fellows Home, where she loved, and was loved by, the staff and fellow residents alike.

She will be sadly missed by sons, Adrian G. Cote Jr. of Fairfield, Lucian Cote of Auburn, and Louis Cote and wife, Pam, of Auburn; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a brother, Ray Desmarais and wife, Gill, of Lisbon; sisters, Muguette Bourget of Lewiston, and Loraine Boulet of Lewiston; a brother-in-law, Ronaldo Cote and wife, Nancy; and sister-in-law, Jean Cote.

She was predeceased by husband Adrian Cote; six brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and two grandchildren.
