Every April, the Durham townspeople meet to discuss the budget for the coming year. What the residents discuss and vote on are the town budget items, which affect the Durham tax rate.

In the case of the current world fiscal fiasco, it is Sen. Barack Obama who has the pragmatism to hire the most knowledgable people who can solve this crisis. Obama will be able to work with Congress to reinstate the regulations that were eradicated with the support of Sen. McCain and his former economic adviser, Sen. Phil Gramm, during the Bush years.

Obama will support the majority of us who pay our income taxes and the real estate taxes in our small town

I am supporting Barack Obama because he will ensure the financial stability of the United States, support the people of Main Street, and the small towns, such as Durham.
