Ronald Reagan had an extraordinary ability to sway the American people, but he allowed himself to be used by the no-regulation, no-tax greedy boys in a way that put the nation far along the road to the present horrible mess.

Then the nation was blessed with Bush/Cheney, who made this descent into the horrible mess inescapable.

Recently, I drove behind a truck that had the whole back beautifully painted with the message people should vote “yes” on Question 1. As I drove alongside it, I saw it was a well-known soft-drink truck and I was so angry I wanted to run it into the ditch. People are in a horrible mess and that company is advocating more of the same greed that made the mess. That is especially offensive, since Question 1 aims to kill the tax designed to save health insurance.

I feel the same way about Question 2, about the casino. It’s just more greed.
