LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen plan to meet Monday with a Maine Municipal Association representative to review 19 applications received for the town manager position.

Former Town Manager Martin Puckett left Sept. 26 to manage three towns in Aroostook County. Town Clerk/Treasurer Kristal Flagg is acting as interim town manager until the board makes a decision on a candidate.

Selectmen will meet a 9 a.m. Oct. 20 at the town office and open the special meeting in public, then vote to go into executive session to review the applications with David Barrett of the association.

The town has hired the organization to help find a new manager.

“We received 19 applications,” select board Chairwoman Louise Chabot said Friday. “I think that is a good number for a town of our size.”

Barrett will advise the board on the next steps in the process Monday.

A review panel is being put together that will consist of all department heads, select board members and two members of the community, Chabot said.

“We’re just beginning the process,” she said. “I hope to have the process completed by Jan. 1.”
