TURNER – An early Sunday morning fire in a flower pot at a convenience store was accidental, according to authorities.

Fire investigator Ken McMaster of the Maine Office of State Fire Marshal said a passerby reported the fire at B&A Variety about 12:24 a.m. The small blaze was in a planter on the front window of the store and caused minimal damage.

McMaster said Sunday night that the fire was unintentional and possibly started after someone put a lit cigarette in the planter.
