AUBURN – The staff and volunteers of Beacon Hospice Inc.’s Lewiston office will participate in the Lighthouse Hospice Foundation’s second annual fundraising Lighting the Way walk on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Festival Plaza and follow a two-mile route along the River Walk, through Bonney Park in Auburn and Simard-Payne Memorial Park in Lewiston and returning to Festival Plaza via Lincoln Street and the Longley Bridge.

The public is invited to participate by walking, sponsoring a walker and/or making a donation to the foundation.

The Lighthouse Hospice Foundation, a non-profit corporation, enhances the lives of terminally-ill patients and their families by providing funding for services and personal items not covered by Medicare or other insurance programs. In addition, the foundation has helped hospice patients’ financially stressed families with expenses.

To join Beacon Hospice’s efforts to support the work of the Lighthouse Hospice Foundation, donations may be made online at www.tlhospicefoundation.org or by sending a check payable to the Lighthouse Hospice Foundation to Beacon Hospice’s Lewiston office at 55 Lisbon St., Suite 2600, Lewiston, ME 04240.
