Lisbon – Mona K. Greene, 86, of 64 Lisbon St., Lisbon, passed away very naturally and peacefully, held in the arms of her children, Tuesday morning Oct. 21, at The Lamp Residential Care.

She was born in Caribou on Oct. 29, 1921, the daughter of Harry and Catherine (Embleton) Curry. She attended schools in Caribou and graduated from Caribou High School Class of 1939, where she excelled in basketball.

In October of 1941 she married Donald I. Greene and traveled across the country while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. He died on Dec. 11, 1988.

Mona was a very generous person who dressed beautifully and had a wonderful sense of humor.

She was an excellent bridge player, enjoyed teaching bowling and really loved to dance.

She was a member of the Officers Wives Club in Lincoln, Neb., and the Women’s Club of Nebraska.

She is survived by her son, Col. Stephen A. Greene and his wife, Cheryl M., of Willoughby, Ohio; her daughter, Dawn Marie Lehnus and her husband, Ben, of Auburn; her grandchildren, Douglas Muich of San Diego, Calif., Donna Noel and Deanne Muich-Michaud both of Auburn, Amy K. and Megan M. Greene both attending The Ohio State University; her great-grandchildren, Holland Michaud and Myles Noel both of Auburn; her sister, Amber Graves-Rioux of Bangor; sister-in-law, Betty Curry of Bangor; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her special friends and pet toy poodles, Rambo, Buddy and Sophie.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Archie, Grover and Harry Curry and George West and her sisters, Velva Tall and Vera Hodston.

Many heartfelt thanks to the entire group of staff at The Lamp Assisted Living Facility in Lisbon, for their love and selfless devotion to the comfort, cleanliness and health of any loved one given into their care at the best facility Mona’s family members have ever had the privilege to experience.
