LIVERMORE FALLS – Four iBook Apple laptops stolen from the middle school last spring were found in the woods off Maple Street on Monday, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

The laptops, valued at more than $2,400 in all, were smashed and destroyed, he said.

“Somebody ripped the tops off,” Steward said.

A person visiting family in the area found the computers.

The school was broken into in May and the laptops, three teachers’ and one student’s, were taken along with a trumpet and the computer digital video recorder for the school’s security camera system.

No one has been charged in the case.
