I write in support of Lois Snowe-Mello’s bid for re-election to the Maine Senate. She represents the people of Auburn, Poland, New Gloucester and Durham.

I know of no stronger advocate for taxpayers in Augusta than Sen. Snowe-Mello. She has never voted for a tax increase in her 12 years as a legislator, and is a leader in the fight to bring state spending back under control. She supported the Taxpayer Bill of Rights two years ago, whereas her opponent, this year, opposed it.

She also advances common-sense solutions to the high cost of medical care. One of her proposals is to repeal laws that prohibit Mainers from buying health insurance from out-of-state providers.

Sen. Snowe-Mello’s dedication and refreshing perspective make her an asset even to those of us living outside her district.
