BANGOR – Erin Dean took a corner kick and punched in the winning goal in the first half, giving the Bangor Rams (10-4-1) a 1-0 victory over the Edward Little Red Eddies (7-6-2) in a girls’ soccer preliminary-round game Friday.

Bangor goalie Kortnie Hudgens keept EL quiet, making four saves. The Rams outshot the Eddies, 24-4. Edward Little goalie Kirsten Prue was forced to make 18 saves.

Lincoln 1, Oak Hill 0

NEWCASTLE – Haley Peavey polished off a loose ball from 10 yards out to lift Lincoln Academy to a 1-0 triumph over Oak Hill in a Western Class B girls’ soccer preliminary-round game Friday.

Peavey’s unassisted tally came at the 29:41 mark of the first half for the Eagles.

Goalie Maggie Sabine made six saves for the Raiders (6-8-1), while Emma Lazzari turned away four to earn the win in goal for Lincoln Academy.
