The Bates College men’s and women’s hockey teams are sponsoring a preseason clinic from Oct. 27-31 to help players get a head start for the 2008-09 hockey season.

The clinic will focus on providing individual attention to each skater by helping each child learn new skills and improving their dexterity in a fun atmosphere.

Providing instruction at the preseason clinic are Roger Lachapelle and Tom LeBlond, the Bates College women’s and men’s coaches. Both coaches have extensive experience in Lewiston. Maineiacs players will also be in attendance.

Every child will receive a free jersey signifying their participation in the clinic.

The program offers two separate sessions to help maximize each child’s potential. Session A is for boys and girls aged 6-9, and will be held from 6-7 p.m. Session B will include players aged 10-14 and will be held from 7:15-8:15 p.m.

The cost of the clinic is $150. It will be held at Underhill Arena located at Bates College. To preregister, contact Anne Mueller at 508-572-3427 or [email protected].

Participants can also register at the rink on Monday. Please make checks payable to Bates Preseason Hockey Clinic.
