PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – Saturday will be a big day in Portsmouth, N.H., as thousands are expected to gather for the commissioning of the Navy’s newest submarine, the USS New Hampshire.

The nuclear sub joins the fleet at a ceremony at the Portsmouth Naval Shipard.

More than 3,000 guests will be at the yard, in Kittery, Maine, and another 5,000 people are expected to view the event on a jumbo TV screen at Prescott Park in Portsmouth.
