BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) – A 70-year-old Brattleboro man could face up to 15 years on each of two counts if he is convicted of lewd and lascivious conduct with a 10-year-old girl.

Anthony Giallella pleaded innocent in Vermont District Court for Windham County to the two felony counts and was being held at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield on $5,000 bail.

Police say they responded Oct. 14 to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for a report of a man who was suicidal over what he had done to the girl. They say Giallella had posted notes around his house urging himself to resist the temptation to molest the girl.

Giallella is accused of improperly touching the girl numerous times during the summer and taking explicit photos of her.
