People in Maine have an opportunity to make meaningful changes in how things are done in Augusta. Through the referendums on the Nov. 4 ballot, voters can do their part to help turn the economy around here in Maine through tax relief, and by adding much-needed jobs.

People can also make a meaningful change in Washington. Let Maine do its part by sending Barack Obama and Joe Biden to Washington. Give them the chance to effect meaningful tax relief, find new energy policies that work, and bring the war in Iraq to an end.

Each vote does count. Each vote can make a difference. Each vote is needed.

I remind voters to please vote on Nov. 4.
