WELLESLEY, Mass. (AP) -An autopsy of a Wellesley toddler who died last week suggests the child drowned.

But the Norfolk District Attorney’s office said Monday that the medical examiner listed the cause and manner of death as undetermined pending the results of additional medical testing.

There was no evidence of trauma.

Medical personnel responding to the 21-month-old girl’s home late Friday night found her unresponsive. She was taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where she later died.

The child’s name was not made public.

The state Department of Children and Families also is investigating. A spokeswoman says there had been one previous complaint against the family involved, but it was found to be “unsubstantiated.”
