LIVERMORE FALLS – Within the next couple of weeks a Planet Aid bin will be placed at the transfer station.

Selectmen approved putting the non-profit organization’s container to collect used clothing and shoes that would normally go in the trash at the station at their Oct. 20 meeting.

Planet Aid collects and recycles the items and resells them and uses the proceeds to support education, community development and HIV/AIDS programs in developing countries such as in Africa and Asia.

Interim Town Manager Kristal Flagg said Monday she contacted the organization’s representative from Greene to get the bin at the station and it will arrive as soon as possible.
