ROCKLAND (AP) – Police say a Rockland man was killed when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle into a large rock and catapulted through the air into a grove trees.

Police said 30-year-old James Ward was killed between midnight and 8 a.m. Sunday, when his body was found on a gravel road where he had been riding.

Police said excessive speed and alcohol were contributing factors.
