FARMINGTON – Marlie Mochamer converted a pass from Marina West with 29:02 left in regulation to give No. 4 seed Mt. Blue a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Cony in the Eastern Class A girls’ soccer quarterfinals Tuesday.

Conditions were less than ideal for a tournament battle, but officials elected to play given the fat conditions are not expected to improve much today.

Nara Montenegro and Hannah Allen also tallied for the Cougars (11-3-1), while Em Deane made five saves to notfch the win.

Tori Fowler and Olivia Boivin scored for the Rams (8-4-3), while Amy Jones turned aside four shots between the posts. Mochnmer’s game-winning goal was her 14th of the 2008 season.
