LEWISTON – The Maine Public Relations Council has awarded Russ Donahue, marketing director for St. Mary’s Health System, the Edward L. Bernays Award in recognition of his contributions to the public relations profession and service to the community.

The award, created in 1987 to honor outstanding contributions, is named for Edward L. Bernays, widely regarded as the father of modern public relations.

The Maine Public Relations Council is a professional association of Maine public relations practitioners, dedicated to the professional development of its members and a greater awareness of the role of public relations.
