YORK (AP) – Police are investigating a burglary at a southern Maine country club where thieves broke in through a rooftop cupola and made their getaway on a golf cart.
York police said the culprits disarmed the alarm system after entering the Cape Neddick Country Club through the roof early Sunday morning.
Golf course superintendent Bob Duran said the burglars made off with some $8,000 in cash and some unnamed items, then used a golf cart in their getaway across the course. They left the cart on the third green, but not before damaging other greens along the way.
