AUBURN – Alfred Joseph Wheeler, 85, of Auburn, died Monday, Oct. 27.

He was born in Bath, Feb. 23, 1923, the son of Gideon T. Wheeler and Jennie N. Wheeler.

He served in the military, was a Mason and a member of Pownal Congregational Church. He enjoyed going to camp in Brownville. He was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by sons, John Wheeler and his wife, Aileen, of Auburn, Wedgwood Wheeler and his wife, Evelyn, of Pownal and Dennis Wheeler and his wife, Joanne, of Pownal; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Alberta Fern Wheeler.
