A recent debate between Tom Allen and Susan Collins proved her very elusive way of politics.
When asked her position on the Columbian Free Trade Act, she just could not find it in herself to make a stand.
Colombia has seen hundreds of trade unionists killed. Thousands of people marched in the second largest city in Colombia because of the violence and oppression they are facing.
They are in strong opposition to the free trade agreement. Yet Susan Collins takes no public position on this important issue. Why? All she has done is make excuses like she has not reviewed it or that the act has not been considered yet. Allen, Rep. Mike Michaud, and Sen. Olympia Snowe opposed this agreement months ago.
Is she waiting for more murders?
Susan Collins is too elusive for us.
