LISBON – A routine traffic stop on Village Street on Monday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a Lewiston man and a Poland woman and the confiscation of a pound of marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,000.

Sgt. Scott Stewart stopped a vehicle driven by Shawna Wilson, 31, of Poland, for a motor vehicle violation shortly after 3 p.m. Monday. In checking her driver’s license, the officer learned she was on conditional release and subject to search. Stewart found the marijuana in a large Ziploc bag stuffed into the sleeve of a jacket in a plastic shopping bag in the back seat of her car.

She was charged with violation of conditions of release and felony unlawful trafficking of a scheduled drug.

Her passenger, John P. Devoe, 39, of 123 Howe St., Lewiston, was charged with one count of felony unlawful trafficking in a scheduled drug.

Wilson and Devoe were booked at the Androscoggin County Jail and later released on bail, a jail spokesman said.
