LIVERMORE – David A. Koljonen, 87, of Livermore, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 29, in Livermore.

He was born on March 28, 1921, in Riley, the fifth child of Einari and Juliana (Pontio) Koljonen. He graduated from Jay High School, Class of 1939.

After high school, he was employed in the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy, Mass., until 1947, when he purchased the family farm on the Riley Road in Jay. On June 17, 1945, he married Fanny Donald at her home in North Jay.

In 1962, he began working for IP, from which he retired in 1983. In 1964, he moved from Jay to the Tessier Road in Livermore.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Fanny, of Livermore; one son, David, of Livermore; several nieces and nephews; and one cousin.

He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
