NEW GLOUCESTER – Edward Scott Brennison, 53, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, at his residence.
He was a 1973 graduate of Shelton High School. He received an associate’s degree in forestry from Paul Smith’s College in New York; a bachelor of arts degree in engineering and physics from the University of Maine and a doctorate in physics from the University of New Hampshire. His doctoral thesis was on astrophysics.
He held a fourth degree black belt in karate. He enjoyed sailing on his sailboat, scuba diving and was an avid hiker and outdoorsmen. He was treasured by his friends and loved deeply by his family. His gentle wisdom will be sorely missed and our lives have been darkened by the loss of our Scott.
Survivors include his father, Edward Brennison of Connecticut; daughters, Heather Brennison of Colorado, and Holly Brennison, also of Colorado; his sister, Cindy Carlson of Connecticut; his brother-in-law, Mark Carlson; nephews, Timothy Carlson and Peter Carlson of Connecticut; and his companion, Kathryn Perry of New Gloucester.
He was predeceased by his mother, Jean Brennison.
