LEWISTON – A local man stabbed twice in the thigh in a street fight early Thursday morning was treated and released and his attacker was arrested, police said.
Lt. Michael McGonagle said two men were fighting at the corner of Pine and Horton streets at 1:45 a.m. when a third man, Jacob Labbe, 22, of Lewiston, joined in.
Labbe jumped into the fight to help one of his friends, and stabbed Zackary Duprey twice in the thigh, McGonagle said.
Duprey, 21, also of Lewiston, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, treated and released. Labbe was later arrested and charged with elevated aggravated assault.
The two men knew of each other, but weren’t acquaintances, McGonagle said. What led to the fight was still under investigation.
