Too many people complain of the racial divide in America. That is no less of an issue here in Lewiston than it is in some comparably small-sized town in the deep South. That racial divide affects communities, children and the future.

Sen. Barack Obama transcends this racial divide. He possesses intelligence and character, but also compassion and an understanding of people. He can unite our country in ways we can only imagine. I see it now at rallies across America – mixed-race crowds joined together for the accomplishment of a common goal.

With Obama’s leadership, people can bring about the change he so often speaks of.

That is the true strength of Barack Obama – his ability to create interest and influence motivation in U.S.
