LEWISTON – Roland and Gisele Durocher of Lewiston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the 10 a.m. Mass at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
Following Mass, the couple renewed their wedding vows with Msgr. Marc Caron, rector and administrator of the basilica, officiating. Scott Vaillancourt was the organist.
A reception followed at Fishbones Restaurant in Lewiston, where the sons of the couple, Paul and Robert Durocher gave the champagne toast. Many cards and gifts were received, including two trips, one from their children and the other from Mrs. Durocher’s siblings and in-laws.
Attending were the three children of the couple, Paul and Dawn of Scarborough, Robert and Jeanne of Buxton and Michelle and Chris of Arlington, Mass., and their four grandchildren, Allison Durocher of Boston, Jennifer Durocher of Beverly, Mass., and Sarah and Jason Durocher of Buxton. Other relatives and friends also attended.
Mr. Durocher and the former Gisele Bilodeau were married on Sept. 27, 1958, at Saints Peter and Paul Church, where they are still parishioners. Since their retirement in 1993, they’ve enjoyed traveling and family gatherings.
