LEWISTON – Through one week of the playoffs, and we’ve already had our fair share of bizarre games.

Lewiston and Edward Little both held on to make defensive stops late to win their Class A playoff games, setting up Lewiston vs. EL, version 165 next weekend.

In Class B, Leavitt had a surprisingly hard time with Oak Hill, and nearly lost in a tough one, while Mountain Valley fought off a rough start to take care of business against Cape Elizabeth in the final regular-season game in Western Class B.

In Class C, teams still had some playoff seedings to determine, and Jay/Livermore Falls proved again to be a rip-roaring good time for all involved.

Winthrop completed its first perfect season since 2001 with a win over Lisbon, and set up a Lisbon/Dirigo rematch in next week’s semifinals.
