I would like to thank the state construction crew for all their hard work accomplished over the summer in building sidewalks on High Street for the Paris Elementary School. Not only does it provide safety for students, but also opportunities to take children for walks and promote healthy ways of living, which we all know are critical these days.

Who knows, maybe even the general public and bicyclists will take advantage of using the nice sidewalks on such a well-traveled road.

However, I would like to ask why was the pavement ripped up when the road was in perfectly good condition? Not only was the road torn apart for no apparent reason, but to remain a disaster for month upon month was absolutely ridiculous.

I wonder, could we have still had our new much-needed sidewalks without wasting money on repaving a perfectly fine road?
