BETHEL – Dr. Stanley R. Howe, executive director of the Bethel Historical Society, has announced that the society will publish a newsletter, “The Broad Street Herald.”
The focus of the publication will be on information concerning the organization’s operations.
It will be edited by the society’s new Development Director James Dock and appear several times a year.
“The growth of the society in recent years has been exceptional and many members and friends have indicated that they wish to know more about the society’s activities and the important contribution it makes to the cultural life and historical understanding of northern New England,” Dock said in announcing the purposes of this publication.
“This publication will focus on the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the society, so that all connected with the organization can gain a better understanding of what is going on and a deeper appreciation of it leadership role in many things historical,” he added.
The Herald will make its initial appearance in November as an enclosure in the society’s longtime quarterly, “The Courier,” which will continue its role of presenting local and regional history articles, book notes, photographs and primary sources.
