MONMOUTH – The Cobbossee Colony Golf Course hosted a golf fundraiser for Monmouth and Litchfield fuel funds on Oct. 3.
Led by Gov. John Baldacci, the 46 participants each paid $35 to play. All entrance fees, along with $1,475 in donations by 17 area businesses and individuals, were donated to the fund.
Course owner William Sylvester said it was important to help with the increasing number of families who will need assistance this winter in the face of high fuel costs. Monmouth and Litchfield each received $1, 575 from the event.

Monmouth: Rural Community Action Ministry (RCAM), 81 Church Road, Leeds ME 04263; Attn: Monmouth Fuel Fund.
Litchfield: Town of Litchfield, 2400 Hallowell Road, Litchfield ME 04350; Attn: Litchfield Fuel Fund.
