Local children learn about the environment

LEWISTON – Local kids from Advocates for Children recently learned a fun, common-sense approach to taking care of the environment.

The kids took part in a free program facilitated by Advocates for Children using an ecology curriculum created by Modern Woodmen of America.

The ecology awareness program helps kids gain an understanding of the part people play in the environment.

The program leads young people to make informed ecological choices. Each child received a nature bag filled with items that reinforce ecological concepts.

This was the third part in a series of events and workshops that Advocates for Children has provided recently to raise the awareness of the importance of nature in children’s lives.
