WOODSTOCK – Martin Sheehan, director of communications of the non-partisan Maine Heritage Policy Center, was the speaker at the Oct. 14 meeting of the Oxford County Republicans at Franklin Grange 124.

Following supper, Sheehan addressed the issue of the Dirigo Health Program. The title of Sheehan’s remarks was “It’s Time to Pull the Plug on the Dirigo Health Experiment.” Also discussed was the beverage tax referendum.

Becky Kendall thanked those who worked at the Republican booth at Fryeburg Fair, including Arlan and Ellie Jodrey, Paige and Jarrod Crockett, Stan Howe, Paula Smith, Lenny Powers, Rob and Louanne Cameron, Dorothy Bartlett, Bettyanne Hastings, Judy Bennett, Joe Lyons, Dawn Cormier, Pat Winsor, Stan Harmon, David Knapp, Ginny Noble, Marie Brown, Joe Robinson, Sawin Millett, Becky Kendall, Kimberly Clarke, Neil Hanley, Bruce Hanley, Mary M. Brown and Barbara Robinson.

Updates on various campaigns were provided and final plans for advertising were approved. Carlene Tremblay. of Sen. Susan Collins’ campaign, reported Collins would tour Oxford County on Oct. 17.
