Quilters meeting

RUMFORD – Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. All area quilters are welcome.

Those who want to participate in a Christmas fabric swap are requested to bring 6-inch squares cut from one yard of 100 percent cotton Christmas fabric that has been washed, dried and ironed.

Canceled stamps are being collected by a member. Show and Tell is welcome as well as donations for Wrap a Smile, New Borns in Need and veterans. If school is canceled on a day the meeting is scheduled, it will also be canceled. For more information, call Mary 562-7050.

Class to meet

MEXICO – The Mexico High School Class of 1959 is invited to meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Far East Restaurant.

Class luncheon

MEXICO – The Mexico High School Class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, for luncheon at Brian’s Bistro in Rumford.

Lodge Mass

RUMFORD – Gorizia Lodge 467, Sons of Italy, will hold a Mass for the deceased at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Holy Savior Parish.

Church supper

MEXICO – A public supper will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Mexico Congregational United Church of Christ (the Green Church). The traditional turkey supper will include homemade pies and will be $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Class lunch

RUMFORD – Stephens High School Class of 1945 will have luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Chicken Coop in Mexico. Call Connie at 364-8785 or Muriel at 545-2709 if planning to attend.

Food drive

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Seventh-day Adventist Church is collecting food items to distribute to needy families for Thanksgiving. Those wishing may bring food or monetary donation to the church, corner of Blayne and Weld streets, leaving donations on the Blayne Street porch or inside if school or some other activity is in session.

This is an annual project for the Adventurer and Pathfinder youth groups. Nov. 22 is the last day to bring a donation.
