DIXFIELD – Neighborly Senior Citizens met on Oct. 10 at the Dixfield Legion with 75 members present to observe the 39th anniversary of the club.

President Connie Tutlis gave a brief history of the club, assisted by Maxine Palmer. Tutlis also read several selections followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and singing of “God Bless America.” Raffle items donated by Arlene Thibeau were won by Peggy Dickson and Dexter Frost. Door prize winners were Maxine Palmer and Larry Kerr. Observing October birthdays were Frankie MacDonald, Janice Swan, June Merchant, Brenda Calden and Tim Calden. New members were Janice Swan, Richard Haines and Nancy Haines.

Entertainment was provided by Sammie Angel. A dinner of roast turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, cranberry sauce, biscuits and pies was served by Post 100. Tutlis reported on the Dec. 8 trip to Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, N.H.

The cost is $53 and there is still space available.

Pick-up points are Dixfield, Mexico and Bethel. For more information call Tutlis at 364-4189. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19. Members are asked to bring items for a food sale. There will also be raffle items, including a knitted afghan and pillow donated by Anna Roy and a doll donated by Justina Hatch. A potluck dinner will be served. 2009 calendars are being collected for the Villa.
