FARMINGTON – Joan H. (Hap) Brooks passed away on Friday, Oct. 31.

She was born on July 2, 1931, the daughter of Wade and Irene Hapgood. She graduated from Paris High School in 1949. She attend Farmington College and earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from Farmington College.

She married Leonard K. Brooks on Feb. 22, 1953. They raised four children together.

She is survived by her three sons, Steve and his wife, Holly, of Rumford, Tim and his wife, Candy, of Buckfield and Cary and his companion, Deb, of Farmington; a daughter, Cathy and her companion, Andy; five grandchildren, Jody, Jeremy, Brandi, Derek and Jake; five great-grandchildren, Keegan, Kennedi, Jaeden, Jackson and Autumn; her sister, Amy Dillon and her husband, Jim, of Yuba City, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; her parents, Wade and Irene; and her brother, Andy.
