BETHEL – Betsey Foster, MPH, tai chi and qigong instructor, will present a workshop to help people de-stress from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Bethel Congregational Church downstairs hall, Church Street.
Her workshop topic is “Breath of Life – Breathing and Moving Meditation for Stress Reduction.”
The program, sponsored by the To Your Health Committee of Western Mountains Senior College, is part of a continuing series to help people take stress out of their busy lives.
Foster will discuss the purpose of meditation, medical research about its benefits and varying types of meditation. Participants will be taught techniques and images for meditation. They will also explore the use of simple qigong exercise and breathing techniques as a meditation tool.
The workshop is free and open to the public. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a mat or towel. For more information, call R. Tifft at 824-2053.
