NORTH JAY – Mark Arris Nadeau, 58, of North Jay, died unexpectedly, Monday, Nov. 3, at his home.

He was born on May 14, 1950, a son of Arris Bliss and Eleanor (Trask) Nadeau Jr. He attended Wilton schools, graduating from Wilton Academy in 1968.

He worked as a millwright at the New Page mill in Rumford. He was a member of the Jay Fire Department and served as a trustee on the North Jay Water District.

He was an avid camper, NASCAR fan (particularly of the Earnhardts), ice-fisherman and motorcyclist. He also enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and putting on big Sunday dinners at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Jay, whom he married on Aug. 22, 2006; two daughters, Melissa Lebel and her husband, Brian, of Minot and Mindy Cote and her husband, William, of Lewiston; two stepchildren, Erica Robison of Auburn and Scott Harriman and his fiancée, Kristina Fucini, of Auburn; four siblings, Susan Knockwood and her husband, Harold, of North Jay, Jeff Nadeau and his companion, Paula Strout, of North Jay, Kimberly Downs and her husband, Richard “Dickie,” of Winn and David Nadeau and his wife, Kevin, of Newton, N.C.; grandchildren, Joshua and Sarah Rushing, Nathan and Jacob Cote, Tianna Harriman, Malayka Harriman and Jayden Robison; and mother-in-law, Georgette Poliquin of Auburn.

He was predeceased by his parents.
