NORWAY – Scenes of “The Night Before Christmas” will decorate downtown Norway for the holiday season this year, as part of the Norway Business Association’s 2008 Holiday Coloring Contest, which is open to all area children.

Children between the ages of 5 and 12 must enter their interpretations of the “The Night Before Christmas” by Nov. 21. Trophies will be awarded to each age level. A grand prize winner will receive their choice of a 6-week lesson series for fantasy illustration or cartooning through the Western Maine Art Group at the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center. Judges Anne Mallory, owner of Creative Media, Ryan Dean, owner of Rhinoz Liningz, and Aranka Matolcsy, president of the Western Maine Art Group, will make their final determinations on Nov. 24. All winners will be notified by telephone.

Entries must be a minimum of 5 by 7 inches and a maximum of 11 by 17 inches, and can be any medium or combination of mediums. Entries can be either two-dimensional or three-dimensional.
