LEWISTON – The Abnaki District, Pine Tree Council, Boy Scouts of America, has announced a Scout Law Showcase and Red Carpet Reception to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Vineyard Church auditorium, Foss Road.
Twelve residents will be honored for reflecting a particular point of the Scout Law. The reception will be an opportunity to mingle with the honorees. Light refreshments will be provided by local restaurants and food vendors from 6 to 7 p.m.
The showcase will feature multi-media presentations of interviews conducted with each honoree as they receive their award. Dozens of Scouts in uniform will assist with the program that will run from 7 to 8:30.
The following is the list of honorees for 2008: Trustworthy, Paul Ouellette; Loyal, J. Paul Spellman; Helpful, John Davis; Friendly, Chip Morrison; Courteous, Patti Gagne; Kind, Dr. Linda Glass; Obedient, Trooper Michael Chavez; Cheerful, Mayor John Jenkins; Thrifty, Ham Marden; Brave, Dick Hussey; Clean, Jonathan LaBonte; Reverent, Pastor Phil Strout.
Tickets are available at many locations for $10 each, including Vineyard Church and Androscoggin County Chamber.

The council is accepting sponsorships and donations from food vendors for the event. Each guest is asked to bring one or more nonperishable food items for “Scouting For Food” collection to be donated to Trinity Jubilee food pantry.
