When Sens. Obama, Biden, McCain, Clinton, or any other elected officials were on the long campaign trail, month after month, who was performing their jobs or duties in Washington, D.C.? Those people are receiving taxpayer money, but are not there earning it.

The presidential campaign went on for well more than a year. That alone is ridiculous. Is that fair to the average American, trying to make a living, that candidates are paid to be in Washington, not hopping from one state to another, trying to get votes? What is happening in America?

I believe that when running for the presidency, anybody already in elected office should resign their jobs. That way, people wouldn’t be paying them a salary which they are not earning.

Something is drastically wrong when there are elected officials who are paid a good salary but are absent from Washington.
