OXFORD – Carolyn Alice Stevens, 59, of Oxford, went home to be with the lord and her daughter Sherry, Wednesday, Nov. 5. She died at her home with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Feb. 24, 1949, in Norway, the daughter of the late Ralph and Eldora (Holman) Watson.
She married Rodney L. Stevens July 24, 1971, in Norway Center. She was the Business Ed Teacher at Oxford Hills High School for 34 years. She was a longtime member of the South Paris Baptist Church. She was known for her love of gardening and for many years grew and sold gladiolas. She enjoyed swimming in her pool in the summer. She loved animals, especially cats. Her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rodney; two children, Joy Cram and her husband, Jere, of Norway and Scott Stevens and his wife, Chantrelle, of Oxford; two siblings, Richard Watson and his wife, Francine, of Colchester,
Conn., and Beverly Yates of South Paris; brother-in-law, Floyd Stevens and his wife, Alicia, of Woodstock; along with many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, college friends, teaching friends; and her family at the church.
She was predeceased by her parents; and one daughter, Sherry Stevens.
